Manage charging points and connectors
Charging points are the individual chargers at a site, and each of them has one or more connectors, that is, plugs.
1.Prerequisites
You are logged in as an admin and have created a site.
2.Step by step
- 1.First, switch to Depot operator in the top left and open Sites in the sidebar.
- 2.Click the site and switch to the Charging points tab, where the list shows all charging points that have been added.
- 3.Click Add charging point in the top right to open the Add charging point form on the right, with the Basic data and Connectivity tabs.
You can also select the pencil icon to edit a charging point.
- 4.Under Make & model, select the appropriate device, for example Alpitronic HYC 150.
- 5.Under Name, enter the name of the charger so that you can find it in the list later.
- 6.Under Access type, choose between the options External, Internal and Disabled.
- 7.Under Connectors, specify how many connectors, that is, plugs, the charging point has.
- 8.The form now shows a separate block for each connector, for example 1st connector. The technical data is filled in automatically once you have selected make & model.
- 9.Under Truck charging layout, specify how a truck can charge at the charging bay, so that fleets know whether they can charge with a trailer.
The options are Uncoupling required, Uncoupling recommended, Drive-through with trailer, Reverse out with trailer and Not compatible.
- 10.Optionally, under Positioning of the EVSE, select how the charging point, technically called the EVSE, is positioned relative to the parking space.
- 11.Finally, click Save, or close the form with Cancel if you do not want to change anything.
3.Result
The charging point appears in the list under Charging points, and the tab shows you the current number of charging points.
IMPORTANT: Before a charging point is fully operational on Depotcharge, it has to be technically connected via the Connectivity tab and our system has to be integrated with the backend/CPMS. Feel free to write to our support for this; we take care of all the necessary steps.
4.Note
You can also change connectors yourself later, but the technical connection to the Depotcharge system then has to be re-established.
The Connection status tells you whether the charging point is already connected to the Depotcharge system. The charging point is usable when it is connected and the Provisioning status is set to Active.
In the Connectivity tab, you can deactivate a charging point's connection, for example when your yard is full.
