Start a charging session

With an RFID card, that is, a card with a chip, or Autocharge, drivers start a charging session directly at the charging station. All they need is the RFID card or a registered Autocharge MAC address, and no account of their own.

1.Prerequisites

The RFID card or the MAC address is assigned to a vehicle and has the card status Active. Your fleet also needs an agreement with the site, because only this allows your fleet to charge there.

2.Step by step

  1. 1.
In the sidebar, open Fleets & charging cards, click the fleet and switch to the RFID cards tab.

There, check whether the card status of the RFID card is Active.

  2. 2.
Then, under Agreements in the sidebar, open the Active agreements tab and make sure that your fleet has an agreement with the site.
  3. 3.
Finally, hold the RFID card to the charging station, or simply charge via Autocharge.

3.Result

The station recognises the RFID card or the vehicle and starts the charging session. Once it has ended, it appears in your fleet's Charging sessions tab.

4.Note

Drivers each use the RFID card that is assigned to the vehicle. If a driver has several RFID cards, you will find the rules for this in the corresponding article.

Vehicles with Autocharge authenticate themselves when plugged in, provided the vehicle model and the charging station support Autocharge. In this case, the RFID card remains usable as a backup.

In the Driver Web App, drivers see free sites on the map and can navigate straight to them, likewise without an account of their own.
