Target groups and requirements
Depotcharge is aimed at depot operators and fleets. In this article, you will find out the minimum you need in each case to get started.
1.Who Depotcharge is for
- Depot operators offer their charging points and earn money from spare capacity.
- Fleet managers charge their vehicles and pay less than they would at public infrastructure.
An organisation can also be both. You can read more about the two areas in Overview of areas and roles.
2.Minimum requirements for fleets
For your vehicles to be able to charge, you need three things.
- 1.A fleet that belongs to one of your companies.
To find out how to create one, see Create a fleet.
- 2.An RFID card with the status Active in this fleet.
To find out how to add it, see Activate an RFID card or Autocharge.
- 3.An active agreement with the site where you want to charge.
To find out how, see Request an agreement and view its status.
If the vehicle and the charging station support it, you can use Autocharge instead of the RFID card. Vehicles and cost centres, by contrast, are optional: they make analysis easier, but they are not needed for charging itself.
3.Minimum requirements for depot operators
To be able to offer your charging points, you need four things.
- 1.A site.
To find out how to create one, see Create a site.
- 2.At least one integrated charging point.
To find out how the integration works, see Manage charging points and connectors.
- 3.A tariff.
To find out how to create one, see Manage prices and tariffs.
- 4.An agreement offer that a fleet accepts.
To find out how to publish it, see Add an agreement.
For your earnings to be paid out, you also enter your payout details. You do not need them to get started, so you can add them later.
To find out how, see Company: enter payout details.
Images, facilities and opening hours are not required, but we recommend them because they make your site more appealing to drivers.
4.Technical requirements
Your charging station must support OCPP, the standard that charging stations use to communicate with a backend. You do not need a new backend for this, because your existing system keeps running in parallel.
The integration usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.
5.Drivers
Drivers do not need their own account. Only the people who handle administration in the office need an account.
